W H Perkins wrote to one of their suppliers in September 1901:

Dear Sir,
With regard to kips ordered for Oct & Nov – I shall be obliged to cancel order for ½ ton for Oct if you can hold over till Nov I will take them. This is owing to the exceeding quietness of trade.
