Private John Warrington

4/7330 1st Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment

Died on Sunday 31st January 1915, aged 22

Son of Samuel and Lucy Maria Warrington, Court Estate, Rushden

Commemorated on the Memorial at Ypres, Menin Gate

Although John Warrington’s address was Rushden, he does not appear on the town memorial. His parents, Samuel and Lucy Maria, had only just arrived here.

John's father had retired from the Huntingdonshire police force. The family left Ramsey when Samuel bought a smallholding in Avenue road, part of the Court Estate, in about 1914.

John Warrington died on Sunday 31st January 1915, aged 22.

He is commemorated at Ypres on the memorial at the Menin Gate.
