Rushden Soldiers' Thanks Gratitude for Gifts
Twenty-four more boys whose names appear on the Queen street, Roll of Honour have each received a postal order for 2s. Many letters of thanks have been received by the committee, and we make the following extracts:-Lance-Corporal Walter R Watson, BEF: Your postal order has come all right, for I am having a fortnight at the seaside for rest having such a long time in the trenches. I do not expect it will be long before I shall be at home, that is if all goes well. I do not expect I shall find Rushden the same as I left it 17 months ago, although I hope there are still the amusements going. If would be rather a bad holiday if there were not opened. I am very pleased to say I am enjoying the best of health.
