Rushden Airman Drowned in Middle East
Mr. Arthur White, of 105, Washbrook-road, Rushden, has received an official letter stating that his brother, A.C.1 Frederick White, R.A.F., who had been serving in the Middle East since February, has been drowned. No further details are given.
A.C. White, who was aged 21, joined the R.A.F. in January, 1941, had lived with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur White since the death of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John White.
A keen footballer, he had played for several seasons with the Intermediate Old Boys F.C., and also took an interest in cricket.
He was employed in the clicking department of Messrs. Denbros Ltd.

Rushden Airman’s Death
The news (given in the “Evening Telegraph” on Thursday) that Aircraftsman Frederick White, of Rushden, has been drowned while serving in the Middle East, will sadden many in the town and district. The young airman was very keen on sport, and the smile caught by the camera was characteristic of him.
