Presumed Killed – Hope for Rushden Airman is Abandoned
In view of the lapse of time and absence of any further news, Sergt. A R Freeman, R.A.F., eldest son of Mr and Mrs S F Freeman, 107, Newton-road, Rushden, is now officially presumed to have lost his life on April 25th, 1942, the date on which he was reported missing.

A native of Rushden, Sergt. Freeman attended the Newton-road School and commenced work at the Newton-road factory of Messrs John White, Ltd. Afterwards he was transferred to the welting department of the Lime-street works, joining the Air Force over two years ago.

Mr and Mrs Freeman have five other sons and three daughters. Two son are serving in the Forcer; Ronald (Royal Artillery) is in India, and Jack (R.A.O.C.) has just gone overseas. A daughter is in the A.T.S.
