Rushden Man Missing

A.B. Owen Cumberpatch, Royal Navy, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Cumberpatch, of 23 Coronation-avenue, Rushden, has been reported “missing, presumed killed.”

The message was received by his parents on Saturday and added that, a letter would follow shortly. On Sunday, A.B. Cumberpatch would have been 20.

He joined the Royal Navy in February, 1943, and was engaged chiefly on patrol work. Before service, after attending the Intermediate School, he worked for Messrs. A. Allebone and Sons, Ltd., and played in the Town Band. His two elder brothers are in the Army abroad.
