Evacuees arrive from Walthamstow (picture from Rushden Echo & Argus Dec 8th 1939 - from microfilm viewer)

Evacuees also came from Colchester - a garrison town - some to
Alfred Street School where sadly, a bomb killed three evacuee girls.
