The funeral took place at the Rushden Cemetery on Monday, of the late Mr. James Edward Buckle, aged 65, of 12, Co-operative-row, Rushden, who died on August 5th. Deceased, who had worked for 12 years for Mr. Jeremiah Knight, formerly lived at Bencroft, Bedford-road. He was the father of Seaman J. E. Buckle, D.C.M., of the famous Submarine B 11. In the absence of the Rev. H. J. Horn, the service was conducted by the Rev. R. Heaps.
The mourners were Mrs. Buckle (widow) and Mr. Fred Hill (son-in-law); Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Robert Wilmer (daughters); Miss Florrie Buckle (daughter) and Mr. Wilmer (son-in-law).
The wreaths bore the following inscriptions:-
From his sorrowing wife and beloved son and daughter, Jim and Flo.
From his loving daughter and son-in-law, Ethel and Fred.
From his dear daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Bob.
In appreciation of more that 12 years’ faithful service at the farm-54, High-street South, Rushden.
