1960s
In the 1960s - when they won the league
Dennis Maddams was vice captain (having been captain for 9 years)
These photographs all came to us courtesy of Dennis Maddams.
Dennis played football for the Intermediate School, as an 'Old Boy' and for Rushden Amateurs.
He was also a very good cricketer.

Charlie May was unofficially known as Mr Rushden as regards cricket. He did everything for the club from playing, groundsman and secretary. He used to organise all the County cricket matches at Rushden. He'd get various celebrities to come and present the trophies for the factory knock-out competitions, such as John Arlott and H. E. Bates.
