"Duty well done"
That was the headline over a recent editorial announcing the resignation of the present Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Coggan. "Duty well done" is also a fitting assessment of Miss Margaret Shelton's leadership of the St. Peter's Brownies.

After many years (it seems that only she knows exactly how many!) Margaret has resigned as Brownie Guider of the 1st Rushden (St. Peter's) Brownies. She will be greatly missed.

Under Margaret's leadership, Brownies has been a church organisation in the very best sense of that phrase. As the leader, Margaret has set an example to the whole Pack in her worship and daily Christian life. Her knowledge of the children extends far beyond their membership of Brownies.

Margaret had wished to retire for some time but she was patient enough to wait for the right person to succeed her. Our support and prayers go to Mrs. Janet Moore as the new "Brown Owl" and to her Assistant Brownie Guiders, Mrs. Karon Rice and Mrs. Margaret Whiting.

For all your work for our Lord and His church, Margaret, we at St. Peter's say "thank you".

JIM BATEMAN.
