The Society began in 1876 and soon grew into a large concern. From various sources we have found lots of interesting items, some of which are transcribed here. The collection of 100 pictures was amassed by Eric Fowell with help acknowledged from Mr & Mrs Carter of Weston Favell, the late Joe Freer's collection, Geoff Wiggins, and David Hudson.
Some of the documents are in private hands, others may have been copied sometime before the Co-op was disbanded. Many are now at Northamptonshire Record Office, and some were retained by Rushden & District History Society when the collection was finally dispersed.
